MEDICINE AT SCHOOL:

All medication must be submitted to the nurse's office in the original, properly labeled container, provided by the parent, along with a written request.

A student with asthma may be permitted to possess and use prescribed asthma medication at school or school-related events only if he or she has written authorization from his or her parent and a physician. The student must also demonstrate to his or her physician or health-care provider and to the school nurse the ability to use the prescribed medication, including any device required to administer the medication. If the student has been prescribed asthma medication for use during the school day, the student and parents should discuss this with the school nurse.

ALL medication will need to be picked up in the nurse's office before the end of the school year. We will NOT be sending medication home on the bus with the students at the end of the year. It will be necessary for parents to make arrangements for the medication to be picked up. Any medication not picked up by the end of the school year will be discarded.
