About Me

I have been teaching for 32 years, but this is my seventh year teaching 7th grade math at Madisonville.  I am a graduate of Huntsville High School (1982) and SHSU (1986).  Through the years I have taught in Coldspring, Everman, Huntsville, for Windham School System, and in China – yes, the country.  For the ten years prior to teaching here,  I taught 5th grade Math in Huntsville.

Teaching is important to me and I realize that every day I have been entrusted to care for the children of this community.  I take that trust seriously and treat my students the same way I expected my own children’s teachers to treat them.  Students in my room will be held to a high standard in regards to behavior and effort.  I like to have fun in class, but I also expect students to give their best, to achieve, and be proud of what they accomplish.

In an effort to make sure that ALL of my students have the opportunity to succeed, I attempt to make myself available to them and to parents.  If students need extra time to complete work or need extra help, I will work to make sure they have that opportunity.  Please contact the school or e-mail me at [email protected] any time you need something or have a question.  I am here for you and your student.

My goal is to see ALL of my students be successful and show growth this year.  In order to accomplish that goal, students must behave properly and come to class with supplies.  These supplies include: pencils, a composition book, pencils (LOTS of pencils), dry erase markers, colored pencils, scissors, pencils, and glue.

I'm glad that I'm here, and am looking forward to this year.  I know it will be great!
