All About Mrs. Walters
Welcome to Madisonville Junior High! I am Amanda Walters, and I'm excited to be here at the junior high as the Student Success Coordinator. I grew up in Needville, Texas. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, and I earned my Masters of Education in Special Education with Diagnostician from Sam Houston State as well. I also played softball for Sam Houston State while earning my Bachelor's degree.
This is my 9th year in education. For the first 5 years of my education career, I taught 7th grade math. After teaching math for the next two years, I worked as a special education inclusion teacher here at the junior high and high school. This is my 2nd year as the student success coordinator. I am starting my 7th year with Madisonville CISD and I am proud to be a mustang! Outside of school, I enjoy exercising, serving in my church, and spending time with my husband, Clint, and our two daughters, Presley (4) and Payson (1).
I am a firm believer that ongoing communication between home and school can help ensure academic success. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have regarding your child and their academic career.
